The Bishop of the ELCT North Western Diocese, Dr. Abednego Keshomshahara, has urged residents of the Lake Zone, especially in Kagera Region and neighboring countries, to make use of specialized heart treatment services through the partnership between the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) and Ndolage Hospital.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement held on May 8, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, Bishop Keshomshahara said the partnership will bring cardiac services closer to the people and reduce the burden of traveling long distances for treatment.
The agreement focuses on strengthening heart treatment services, exchange of expertise, healthcare training, and improving specialized services at Ndolage Hospital.
The General Secretary of the Diocese, Dr. Elmereck Kigembe, said the milestone follows major improvements at Ndolage Hospital, including the installation of modern medical equipment.
Ndolage Hospital is among Tanzania’s oldest mission hospitals and has provided healthcare services to the people of Kagera and neighboring areas for nearly 100 years.
