The Bishop Leads Fundraising at Igayaza Dispensary and Exceeds Targe
The Igayaza Dispensary, owned and run by the ELCT North-Western Diocese, held a fundraising campaign and session to solicit money for the construction of an operating theater room on the 14th October, 2025.
The head of the Dispensary, Dr. Hildebrand Danstan, stated that the institution has served the community of Missenyi District, on its catment area for over 57 years and now requires a surgical ward to improve health services.
The Diocese's Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Nicolaus Tinkamwesigile, encouraged the public to continue investing in development projects. The General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Elmereck Kigembe, praised the leadership of the dispensary for self-reliance initiatives towards improving healthcare services.
Bishop Keshomshahara urged the participants to maintain their spirit of selflessness, saying, "Building an operating theater is saving lives." He emphasized that healthcare services are part of the Church's mission to fulfill God's will for all people.
The fundraising campaign expected to collect Tsh 8 right million for the construction of the foundation but exceeded its target, raising Tsh 13 million, and providing avenue to commence construction immediately.
