On 25th March, 2025 the NWD organized the workshop for the retired deaconesses at ELCT Bukoba Hotel. 

The workshop was aimed at strengthening faith and solidarity with other church workers who are currently serving and platform for life dialogue. 
Opening the workshop, Bishop Dr Abednego Keshomshahara urged the retired deaconesses to be firm in faith so that they may set an example for faithful church workers. He insisted “deacons leave office but never retire to serve” The Mother General Sr Helenestina Lwanyamukaga appreciated the service that is extendd by the deacons to the society through the church. 

Facilitators to the workshop included Bishop A. Keshomshahara and Dean Josephat Rweyemamu. The participants urged the bishop for the continuation of the same workshop every year. 

Sr Dina Nkongo, the founder of Namalira Mother House expressed his appreciation for the diocesan management to convene a group of retired deaconesses and for the care that they are receiving from the church.
