RIP GEORGINA KATABARO

The 30th July 2022 was saddened by the funeral of Ms Georgina Katabaro, which took place in her home village of Kitobo-Kashasha parish.

The funeral was led by the the District Pastor Rev Diocres Mashongole who delivered a nice sermon regarding the life of Georgina as an example of church members who prepare themselves for the kingdom of God.

The funeral was attended by many people from different areas in and outside the Kagera region.

Ms Georgina Katabaro was born in 27th May 1949 in the family of Musa Muguta and Kezia Kajerero. She was a granddaughter to the first African pastor Andrew Kajerero of the NWD.

 She studied at Kigabiro and Lyamahoro middle school from 1957 to 1964. She pursued nursing studies at Ndolage Nursing School between 1966 and 1968 and at Muhimbili from 1969 to 1970 and from 1984 to 1986. From 1989 to 2000, she pursued her master’s degree in nursing at the University of Manchester in UK. 

In 1971 to 1974, she served as a nurse and mid wife at Ndolage hospital. 1974 to 1984 she served as a matron at Ndolage Hospital. 1984 to 1990 she was a tutor at Ndolage Nursing School. 1990 - 2014 when she retired, she was the head of Ndolage Nursing School

In 1971 she was married to Dr Hezekiel Katabaro and they were blessed with seven kids, four boys and three girls who have been left with twelve grand children
