 BUKOBA HOPE LUTHERAN SECONDARY SCHOOL

The North Western Diocese started the Bukoba Lutheran Teachers’ College (BLTC) in 2007. The college grew into a very strong education institution like other grant other institutions in the diocese. It even competed with other big teachers’ colleges in Tanzania. However, behind its success, apart from its own initiatives, there were supportive government education policies in addition to few private colleges in Kagera region and in Tanzania in general. The policies have now changed, for instance, qualifications to join teachers’ education has shifted from Division (Grade) IV to III and above. At the same time, graduates with Division III and above are also needed to join other courses apart from teaching. On the other hand, the number of teachers’ colleges has raised, for example in Kagera region, from two in 2007 to ten in 2016! Immediately the diocese assessed the situation and asked itself, “What are we going to do with the infrastructures at Ruhija campus if the teachers’ college closes?” The most suitable solution came in, “Start the  (secondary school) for both girls and boys from Form I to IV named Bukoba Hope Lutheran Secondary School.''Come one, Come all BUHOLUSE  is waiting for your children''For more Information call 0754264200
